對二十世紀西方文學理論的政治化解讀，Eagleton審問的是學院中的theorists麵對和解答現實世界問題的能力，任何一種理論都不可避免地預先設定瞭其政治行動的可能性，對世界所持的某種視角總會引導我們在現實中不斷地朝著特定方嚮行動。與其糾結於文學或文學理論的定義，不如承認我們總是齣於一個目的使用文學。

準確的說就是一本馬剋思視野下的文學理論概況，不是一般的不公允，而是絕對不可能公允。但好處是能夠讀到伊老的俏皮話
