看了前言觉得在搞辩证法，我真是对哲学越来越无感了。

在学科分工细化的时代很有野心地以主观/客观视角之分这条主线串起古老、重大的诸哲学问题，把各种前哲学的直觉梳理得很清楚。整本书的论调很奇怪地对道德进步乐观但对哲学进步悲观或者说保守。主线不能说产生了什么重要结果，不过其间点缀了不少精彩洞见，如批评泛灵论主张在物理学承认的世界基本成分之外增加感质元素但不能解释为何会有视角感知到感质。

The problem of the relation between mind and world is intriguing but hard. Nagel argues for a form of realism according to which there might be something that goes beyond our ken:unthinkable and unintelligible. His opponents, idealists, holds an opposite view: what there is must be thinkable. I am writing a paper to argue against Nagel's argument.

【按语：4年后整理压缩下这本书的笔记，感觉Nagel这本书极为出类拔萃，跟Williams的Ethic and the limits of philosophy一样，都是勇于且娴熟地处理根本的伦理和认识论问题并提出基本的论点。相形之下，Scanlon的What we owe to each other则过度学院化和技术化且腼腆。Nagel先...
