讀中文版時候感覺毛姆講得是夢想，而讀英文版纔察覺到stickland所呈現的一種帶有原始、野蠻的本質力量的生命狀態，他的真實從下半身開始，具體，野蠻，性感，無遮攔，迴到瞭最原始的關於身體的敘述。

好像一時很難闡述自己的感受

從一個平淡的開頭到欲罷不能，毛姆的功力真心佩服。
