感覺全書充斥著偏見和誤導性的“事實”…作者都承認因果關係還不能確定…卻用相關關係強行塞給讀者“正是因為sex imbalance纔導緻犯罪率增加/性交易需求上升/等等”的印象。大量地甩報導/專傢的話…而且都是很主觀性的…想說作者是不是把問題都太簡單化瞭？站在道德的製高點上說，你們是不對的！不能人為選擇孩子的性彆！這樣對社會不好！很多問題都隻留在錶麵啊…根本沒有繼續追問下去。

這本書對性彆失衡這個現象的研究，提齣或者說發現瞭很多新的因素。比如經濟的發展反而加劇瞭發展中國傢性彆失衡的現象。值得一讀。沒有給高分的原因是看過歐美其他一些社會科學的書籍，相對而言，本書的邏輯和論證還不夠厚實。

this is about how technology itself enables unnatural selection, rather than the assumed and crude practice of infanticide. The author has some explanation for the traditional (and economic) reason of gender preference. At the current market economy, why does this persist? In fact, it is the market economy that reversed the gender trend in CN.
