As in Different Seasons (1982), King takes a mostly nonfantastic approach to grim themes. Now, as then, these tales show how a skilled storyteller with a good tale to tell can make unsettling fiction compulsively readable.

四篇比较扭曲的中篇小说，很久之前看的，忘了具体题目了。特别喜欢那篇主角报复自己老朋友的故事。越是所谓“好朋友”就越容易成仇。本书就素质而论够得上5星。但是现在评价，尤其是已经看过了最新的《11/22/63》，只好委屈它一个4星了。
