关于性的那章，解除了我一直以来的疑惑。如果只靠变异，一个基因要消亡必须是所有个体的消亡，并且没有后代，非常残酷。如果是这样，我们有这么多共性，必然是共祖的，那也不太像。正解应该是性，可以融合基因，同时逐渐把坏基因淡出，这样就比较温和。

跋的最后一段，读来仿佛读到物种起源结尾时的感受，摘录于此：It is a most wonderful thing to share so much with the life around us on this blue-green marble,floating through the bleak infinity of space.There is more than grandeur in this view of life.There is fallibility and majesty,and the best human eagerness to know.
