门罗的魅力在于——明明“轻描淡写”的引出剧情里的冲突和高潮，却能让人无法平静。在深夜里辗转，对着文字想着生活。推荐看原版。

巴恩斯说门罗"can move characters through time in a way that no other writer can", 太对了，还说他也试了不过——没门儿，这人家独门绝技。门罗在这书里写了个很绝的句子，"it was real life that was the escape", 或许是这样吧：真实世界里避而不谈、让我们活出来又咽下去的东西，就用写小说的笔全掘出来。在语言上最喜欢too much happiness, 不知道是太累了，又或是俄罗斯的雪、巴黎苦苦守候的老教授、通往斯德哥尔摩的列车打动了我……读到最后脑子里冒出一个念头来：感觉自己静静漂浮在海面上，心里的声音说，就到这里，不要再潜下去了。这篇真是很美。

我开始想人们在日常生活中做出的某个不经意的决定，其背后有什么东西隐藏着呢？神秘，又让人无法否认。

最喜欢Wenlock Edge，they didn't know they had it in them. 感觉Munro也是这样的，看似轻巧地写出人心隐蔽的角落，那些我们有但不知道自己有的。最后一篇感觉明显不同，和她别的fiction太不一样了，不过也使我们从另一个角度了解什么是吸引门罗的题材。

我终于开始从心底里接受不是所有写的好的书我都需要读完，写得好是真的好，但大量landscape描写我也真的是看得发困（当然这本比逃离已经有趣很多了），有这个时间我不如多读几遍看不见的城市和鳄鱼街这种看第一句话就知道会喜欢的书
