评分故事從頭到尾就僅發生在一個房間裏頭，很獨到。但是案件卻老套瞭許多，但我想作者跟讀者所關注的不是是否最後能夠把凶手找到，而故事的結尾也沒有交代凶手是誰，想想也沒有必要去寫這些，因為貫穿書本中心的一直都是那位8th Juror，而其他人對事情顯得十分勉強，拖拉，聽之任之，就是這位8th Juror把一切扭轉過來。我並不瞭解作者寫這本書時候的社會背景如何，僅僅知道的是他是一名編劇，但是裏麵頗具譏諷之味。
评分其實一開始不大喜歡的地方是我對它的誤解，我的初衷是它是對司法係統一些fiat的評論以及探討它們的界限。後來纔發現其實它隻想說說種族歧視。
