没想到哲学最后一课的阅读材料会是这篇文章。她得过许多次雨果奖，这篇文章也就显得不那么稀罕了，我从未挑出这篇文章单独阅读过。她没有解释那个孩子存在的原因与Omelas社会运转方式的成因，只是浅淡的描述了他所经受的痛苦与痛苦的必要性，至于这样的痛苦为何存在，为何必须存在，似乎不是她想要描述的要点。他人对于承受苦难惠泽四方的少年做出的反应才是这篇文章的重点所在。个人读不出来这篇文章中有多深的宗教意味，背起行囊离开故乡的人倒是让我想起洞穴隐喻，却又在哪里有着微妙的不同。这篇文章可以做出许多解读，但有时候我觉得不必要想太多，享受一篇简短优秀的小说，不去思索字里行间到底有无深意，也是有趣的经历，只是读得越多想得越多…太容易想出太多隐喻，不能享受文章本身，是很无趣的事情。（作者的代表作是地海传奇）
