著者簡介

Jhumpa Lahiri is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her debut collection of stories, Interpreter of Maladies, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize, the PEN/Hemingway Award, and The New Yorker Debut of the Year. Her novel The Namesake was a New York Times Notable Book, a Los Angeles Times Book Prize finalist, and was selected as one of the best books of the year by many publications. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.

整體水平不如第一本短篇小說集，但是最後一個故事完完全全擊敗我瞭，I am a hopeless romantic.

喜歡她的文字。She is a good craftsman of words. 但是從故事到文字不覺得比她第一本長進。她的故事全部非常depressing. 不是說故事一定要大團圓結尾，但我認為得留給你一綫希望，不能每一篇短文都這麼令人沮喪。fav= nobody，hema

GR 4.08 (28000) 作為一個印度控，很慚愧地，我認識的印度人大多都是印裔的ABC (似乎應該叫做ABI吧)，很少有道地的印度土著，這本小說寫的就是印度ABC們在異鄉的故事：一本印度版的“北京人在紐約”。雖說是短篇小說集，其實是個多角度的長篇，細節細膩構思巧妙，再加上我喜歡的悲劇結尾，Jhumpa Lahiri也算是印度小說的金字招牌瞭，非常推薦

Jhumpa Lahiri is my favorite at the time. She uses simple languages to touch the deepest of my heart. As a Chinese expat living in the U.S I empathize a lot with her Bengali-American antagonists.
