"周称当代中国社区宗教传统的复苏有三大原因:1·朝拜及其仪式支持请客及互相帮助等传统价值观,以及它们与根深蒂固的农民组织之间的联系;2·地方精英们利用寺庙和寺庙组织,把它们当作重要的政治、经济及符号资源,并与政府协商把地方传统合法化;3·中央政府把一些权力下放给地方政府,使地方政府有机会调控地方宗教活动,甚至从中受益,因此催生新式的政府-社会互动关系。"
