读到后面感受到本书的咸湿之处。作者以人文地理学的背景研究社会权力关系，很多点和社会学里对权力的研究呼应，甚至在play上和福柯呼应。非常有趣的一本书。前面部分读起来有趣但是没有引起太多思考，但是最后一章简直开挂了，非常thought provoking。非常棒的一本书。

从支配的角度出发，阐释了人对于花园，动物和人类自身不同群体之间的心理。力量差异，宠物化，等级化和对自然的支配，对孩童妇孺侏儒等的支配，甚至对于未知力量的支配成为贯穿全文的核心线索。最后一章尤其发人深省，不管是现代还是中世纪，亦或是文艺复兴时期，支配、喜爱与恩赐的混合体总是在人类文明中发芽生长乃至于支配人类自身。

很好的书，读晚了。值得讲的地方很多，也非常有启发性。不过看的时候抱着自己的猫，有点难过：（
