这种哲学家の艺术评论，尴尬之处在于艺术家本人往往并不认可。当然影迷可以作为趣味读物聊备一说。但无论如何一个人无法通过逆练这种哲学分析来变成艺术家，这说明艺术的档次高于哲学，你可以把一件艺术品砸碎为各种碎片，但却无法把碎片还原为艺术品。就此书而言，离林奇的原材料越近，则越扎实，越发散，则越扯淡。

Lynchian与《妖夜慌踪》仅仅是书中若干事例的其中一种，除却第二章"The Femaine Act"对新/旧黑色电影的女性形象有一些论述之外，基本上与林奇无关，Arts Of Ridiculous Sublime是一本于千禧年写就的论述，其真正的主角是网络时代及其后现代By-Product：鲍德里亚，后认知主义，德勒兹，哈拉维（尽管在对“赛博格”的定义上与哈拉维截然相反）。以及齐老爷子永远的"Lacanian"主体性，地位大约等同《新千年文学备忘录》之于卡尔维诺。
