第一次阅读George Eliot的小说，非常震撼，虽与狄金森几乎同时代，但很不一样。Eliot对当时英国婚姻中的女人有很深刻的理解，Mrs Tulliver的几个姐姐虽然关注不同的点，却都在为保住自己在婚姻和家庭中的位置而努力。而Maggie的大篇幅的心理描写和人物，都是对这些的对抗。很有味道的一本小说，花了我将近30个小时....
