寫得真好。雖然說是an introduction, 但是非常多閃亮的觀點。比如對stanley fish的批評, 還有引言開始沒多久對richards practical criticism尤其是那個著名課堂實驗受眾的背景反思(all students are white and well-educated)。對hisrch的validity in interpretation的總結和發展,本身已經可以寫一篇文章瞭。而且文字非常清楚,比起eagleton討論愛爾蘭民族主義時寫的天書(收在Nationalism, Colonialism, and Literature一小書中,同書還有said和f. jameson的文章, eagleton寫得比jameson還繞),實在是太readable瞭
