對於已經從事古典學研究的人來說，這裏麵的內容近乎常識，但是對於剛剛開始接觸古典學的學生而言，這裏麵的東西卻是救命的，因為最難過的地方莫過於，很多東西老師覺得你應該知道，因此往往需要的時候纔提上一句，但是學生其實就是不知道，也沒有人告訴你，也不知道去哪裏看，結果等老師提問的時候場麵一下子非常尷尬，被老師嘲諷……這本書的好處就在於刪繁就簡，把古典學領域的常識用不難的語句，以類似提要的形式，講得清清楚楚，並且提供基本的入門材料和網上資源。畢竟，常識隻有知道瞭纔算常識，接觸無門就無所謂常識瞭吧????

範圍廣，但處處淺嘗輒止，bibliography還可以，不過還是Blackwell的那套更好（當然也更厚）

像是“學科基礎指南”。將近10年前的書，裏麵的內容或者方法論現在wiki，google或者甚至知乎上應該都能找到瞭。不一定要全讀，可以挑感興趣的章節。
