我挺喜歡這本書的，尤其Hershel兄妹那幾章。上課時老師不斷強調這是本trade book trade book trade book, 把它與學術著作分得很開，我不否認這本書受到其目標受眾的限製，但至少我所追求的所謂學術，沒有這麼嚴格的專業與科普的界限，這種界限抹滅的恰是amateur所體現的對事物本真的熱愛，而這種熱愛也恰是the age of wonder中所有主人公的共性。

算是一本科普讀物，不過作者除此之外寫的是柯勒律治和雪萊的傳記。。。但是寫得確實好看

说实话，这本书才看了将近一半就迫不及待地上网来评价，不为别的，只为暴永宁先生高超的翻译水准，译著行文流畅且文采斐然，还有对原著所没有的大量英语世界的文化背景补充，比如对"自然神学"的解释，对大量英文人名的注释，甚至还有对'失乐园'中诗句的介绍等等，实在令人钦佩...
