著者簡介

剋裏斯托弗•麥剋杜格爾（Christopher McDougall）

美國作傢。畢業於哈佛大學，後入美聯社擔任記者，赴安哥拉、剛果和盧旺達報道戰事。返美後為《戶外》、《紐約時報》、《跑步者世界》等刊物撰稿。曾三度入圍全美雜誌報道奬。

愛好跑步，但頻受腳痛之苦。偶然得知在墨西哥的銅峽榖，隱居著史上最強的長跑族群塔拉烏馬拉人。於是穿越峽榖，尋找和族人頗有交情的奇人卡巴洛，一睹這支與世隔絕的部族的真麵貌，探得跑步真諦。此間學習塔拉烏馬拉人的跑法，腳傷不治自愈，後寫下《天生就會跑》一書。

目前在練跑步之餘，寫下一部作品。

FASCINATING! Open up this book and meet up with the final enlightenment. Running is the elixir and cure-all everyone is going after. Even better, it's our basic instinct and through millions of years of evolution, it's been written in our genes that WE WERE BORN TO RUN.

原来人类天生就会跑，是跑的比鹿快的那种速度，是追赶猎物的技巧，他们是塔拉乌马拉人。现代科技的发展以车代步，都快让人遗忘了跑步这回事。看完后，确实有种即刻跑在林荫深处，跑在高岗之上，跑在海河之滨，反正要在大千世界中奔跑的冲动呢
