著者簡介

速水佑次郎於1956年畢業於東京大學，獲文學學士；1960年獲美國愛荷華州立大學農業經濟學博士。此後，他在日本和美國多個大學和研究機構任職。1966-1986年間，任日本京都大學經濟學教授；1986-2000年間，任日本青山大學國際經濟學教授；1995-1996年間，任美國康奈爾大學國際事務講席教授。目前，速水佑次郎是國際發展高等研究基金會研究生院主席，日本國立政策研究大學客座教授，國際農業經濟學會終身名譽會員。1999年，速水佑次郎獲得瞭日本政府頒發的紫色勛章。

Vernon Wesley Ruttan (1924–2008) was a well-known development economist at the University of Minnesota, where he was Regents Professor Emeritus in the Departments of Economics and Applied Economics.[1] Ruttan's research focused on agricultural development, induced innovation, technical change and productivity growth, institutions, and development assistance policy.
