著者简介

Michelle McNamara (1970–2016) was the author of the website True Crime Diary. She earned an MFA in fiction writing from the University of Minnesota, and had sold television pilots to ABC and Fox and a screenplay to Paramount. She also worked as a consultant for Dateline NBC. She lived in Los Angeles and is survived by her husband, Patton Oswalt, and their daughter, Alice.

Overrated. 如果作者没有突发心脏病去世，这本书应该会能看许多。本质其实是双线交织：作者自己的obsession和EAR/ONS的犯罪历程。整理出书导致混乱且散乱，没有主线而且不连贯，有部分可读性很强，有部分非常拖沓。时间地点人物都跳来跳去的。如果作者没有去世，在EAR/ONS被抓以后完整把书写出来应该可以很不错，因为作者本人对于受害人有着很明显的同理心。

好看，作者文笔超棒，但可惜最后英年早逝估计是心力交瘁了。感恩最后凶手抓到了

主要是倾佩作者的执着，耐心和细致。她老公坚持让这本书出版也是值得称赞，对她是一个慰藉吧。之后落网更是慰藉了。但是不是对crime题材特别感兴趣的到后面的耐心会被磨没了，也许作者自己写的话会更精彩。

Golden State Killer癡迷於成為別人的一家之主，Michelle McNamara癡迷於追捕他。Michelle書寫餘半就離世，書出版後兩個月，冷案翻熱，兇手落網。書裡所承載的就不為解謎了，而是藉由推理之挫敗和轉折，展現她癡狂的韌度和密度，也道出生命的無常、諷刺和遺憾。她提及她小時候總著迷於坐在她前面的男生，注視背影，把情感投射在一張不可見的臉龐上；與丈夫的週年慶祝上，丈夫祝她可以逮到更多兇徒，她卻辯說「他」是唯一；夜深人靜，她向丈夫提及「他」，丈夫甚至不需要問「他」是誰。每個調查員都深信，給我一個機會直視他的雙眼，我立即可以揪出他的靈魂。這種「親密」，也在她寫給「他」的信中表露無遺——像總要有天與你在陽光下相見。你穿橘了，我卻永遠錯失了你。人世原有這樣一種錯失。

英文有声书。DNF。题材很感兴趣，但是写得也太一般了。虽然算是业余作家可以原谅文笔，但是这个叙述太没逻辑了。
