I’m thrilled when reading this book, totally devoting to the life of theUtopians, and thinking how wonderful it would be if such civilization exists.

unlike "the law" by Frédéric Bastiat, which seems wise but brutal and biased, Utopia is written prudently: 1) it is written as a third person tells the story, so the author didn't intend to provoke or impose: 2) the author has reserved himself to take the Utopian institution as perfect solution, rather he explicitly say, it is merely referable.

这本书的作为空想社会主义的开端，其社会影响远远超过文本本身的思想价值。姑且不论乌托邦是否可以存在，人性是否克服可以贪欲，是否人类可以容忍单一的价值观；单单与柏拉图的理想国相比还是有非常大的差距。在理想国里，苏格拉底不断引导几个思辨者得出有意义的结果，抽丝剥茧般层层深入；而乌托邦第一部分的对话体更富说教色彩，在第二部分用叙述体描述乌托邦，不仅是空中楼阁，而且为天方夜谭。本书唯一亮点就是第一部分对英国死刑量刑的批判与思辨。

It is the work of a scholarly Englishman who enjoys high social status attacks the chief social evils on the policy of Henry VIII. I figure that ‘Utopia’ is not a practical but an ideological scheme. More aims at creating a political metaphor which using the ideas in Graeco-Roman classics(especially Plato’s the Republic) as a critical weapon.
