（1）主要是為瞭研究圖像分節問題讀的這本書； （2）非常艱澀，之前還讀過《玫瑰的名字》，也是一樣艱澀。化學數學物理美學同時齣現在一頁紙上，感覺崩潰； （3）翻譯方麵，術語很混亂，這主要是因為當年符號學術語還沒統一，盡管現在也沒統一，但是基本術語（在趙毅衡等學者的努力下）已經達成共識。舉個例子，書中“圖像”一詞大多數情況指的是皮爾斯三分中的“像似”（icon），但有時也指“圖像”（image）。（當說“視覺圖像”時就是指image。） （4）艾柯對圖像進行瞭詳細分類，其中生理刺激之類不構成意指作用，自然也就不能分節；三層分節主要體現在攝影中。

不宜作為符號學入門讀物，太艱澀
