感觉作者似乎不太喜欢中国，但仍然是一本了解当代中国很好的书。对于书中的故事，Benjamin L. Liebman的话似乎很适用："China is seeking to establish a system of controlled transparency, where some of the benefits of greater scrutiny of official action can be obtained without undermining confidence in the state or encouraging direct challenges to Party rule."
评分Inspiring though bias. The story on Falun Gong was fascinating.
