masterful reading of architectural structure (though a bit biased towards that of plans and facades, and short on the experiential side of things), and a lucid companion piece on architectural proportion to Panofsky's 1921 paper. 现在觉得瓦尔堡学派的British émigré所处的文化环境的确影响了他们研究的趋向，Wittkower最后一小节谈英国美学对古典比例的叛离可算一例很鲜明的例子。
