打5星是因为不明觉厉。第一次读沃夫林大神的书，果不其然分分钟被轰成渣，全程大部分时间都是懵逼状态，偶尔觉得终于能大概懂了，然后马上继续懵逼QAQ，目前读过的德系艺术史著作，不仅仅方法论这块和英国艺术史千差万别，简直像是在学新的语言。而且这语言还非学不可，困难重重，唯有努力

five pairs of concepts: from the linear to the painterly, from plane to recession, from closed to open form[tectonic to a-tectonic], from multiplicity to unity, The absolute and the relative clarity of the subject.

反驳了Winckelmann对巴洛克的负面评价，试图脱离social context寻找艺术史独立的发展规律，但最终还是要从法国大革命来解释从巴洛克回归neoclassicism的现象。和Riegl一样，沃夫林也不时吐槽自己手头照片的质量，不得不承认media technology的重要性。其实我想说的是下课后在图书馆又见到了美貌与智慧兼备的教授，教授主动叫住我和我打招呼呀。。。今天做梦也会笑灭哈哈哈
