那些用于划分社会的概念，比如“阶级”，并非先在于人们的社会实践，也不是任何意义上的“固定”的推进社会发展的内在动力。一个社会以什么样的形式被划分，是政治过程的结果，也是作者所谓的hegemony。当划分显得太过混杂，hegemony就结束了。（想女权运动、种族问题、环境运动、全球公民社会——把一个想象意义上的“工人阶级”切得七零八落。）这书既是对“本质主义”的批判，也是对“多元主义”的批判。这是我的一点粗浅的理解。最后关于左派学者应该做什么，没太看懂。是说因为hegemony渗透至社会的每一个角落，所以不管社会运动是反资本还是反男权还是反环境污染，左派学者都得想办法去make sense咩？

这周匆匆读完，颇有及时乃至应景之感。但其实是读得太迟了。把全书要义从葛兰西语言翻译成中国革命语言，应该是：新-新民主主义。感觉这本书在汉语世界好像不太受重视，是不是？
