終於啃完了這部關於聖城的鉅作.... 耶路撒冷,三大宗教聖地,結尾處關於不同宗教信仰的人在聖城同一地點不同時間舉行各自的宗教儀式,簡直就是讓人對這個世界又充滿的莫名的期許.歷史上那些殘酷的殺戮,曠日持久的戰爭,泯滅人性的種族屠殺,不都是因為想要獨占的貪婪.一座城的歷史,如此的多彩斑斕....想要去旅行,終點是耶路撒冷!
评分即使是无神论者读这本书还是非常津津有味的。耶路撒冷的历史从开端到六日战争，由作者娓娓道来，漫长却不失条理，还能与欧洲史、北美史和两次大战的历史互相联系起来，足见作者功力。深受犹太、基督和伊斯兰三大宗教影响的耶路撒冷乃至中东地区要有和平，唯有寄希望于和谐与包容。值得一读再读。
评分读了两个半月搞定。后面三分之一读的不太细，19世纪以后有些囫囵吞枣。写法属于一成不变地编年纪事，魅力完全来自于作者的文笔。
评分读的中文版，难为作者了，复杂的宗教冲突，要站在一个中立的立场上叙述不容易。
