Bruce Hayes is Professor of Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has published extensively in books and journals, and is the author of Metrical Stress Theory: Principles and Case Studies (1995), and editor (with Robert Kirchner and Donca Steriade) of Phonetically-Based Phonology (2004). Introductory之图书并无什么使人兴奋之处。

读完生成派音系学教材印象最深的反而还是历时相关，很有趣。阐述问题有时候有点“你懂的”逻辑，一些肝心定义辨析就绕过去了。例子错误还有些的，网上放的errata依然没补全…

极佳的入门教材，语言浅显易懂，引例丰富详实，分析也算严谨。教科书就应该写成这种样子！ ps. 虽然基本做了每一道练习题但是没有答案我咋知道做得对不对啊……
