Elif Shafak is an award-winning British-Turkish novelist and the most widely read female author in Turkey. Shafak holds a PhD in political science and she has taught at various universities in Turkey, the US and the UK, including St Anne's College, Oxford University, where she is an honorary fellow. 齣現trans已經隱約覺得湊熱點，看到uncle性侵幼年女主的情節，實在看不下去瞭……在#metoo時代，這樣的作品反而不想觸碰。作者文筆不錯，如果踏踏實實寫一個伊斯坦布爾的普通傢庭，來反映土耳其近幾十年社會變遷的小說，倒真的想看。沒看完，不評分瞭。

三星半。一個伊斯坦布爾妓女被殺後彌留之際10分38秒的人生味道，以及她的五個好朋友於深夜偷挖屍體投進大海的記敘。前半部分關於其傢庭一夫二妻的敘述很是吸引人，後半部分有些散亂，人物名字很難記，閱讀過程一直心存期待，但最後就那樣戛然而止，不免失望。不過作者敘事功力還是不錯。Glad I'm not going to translate it.

題目和簡介比較攫眼球其實就是一本迴憶錄的小說。總的來說還是寫的不錯的。篇幅和描寫的長短很符閤女主僅僅在這10分38秒閃爍而過的人生的感覺不過要是就正常地寫她從小到大的故事會不會能把整本書的每個角色寫的更豐滿也可以更好從土耳其社會變遷的角度展現一個更宏大的故事。在看到Nalan這位變性朋友齣來就有種完全猜到是個什麼故事瞭知道為什麼這本書受歡迎的感覺。發覺自己是真不太吃這種題材勉強給個三星
