提到MIT的凯皮斯，学建筑的人可能知道的不多；可是提到林奇，建筑系的人都知道。然后，林奇当年研究城市意象时，合作者就是凯皮斯。这本关于视觉语言的书，是现代视觉语言的一本经典。很包豪斯。

Colin Rowe从中“攫取”了“Transparency”加以利用，但吸引我的一段摘抄如下：“A memory constancy...is attached to familiar things of our surroundings. We keep a constant size and shape in our perception however the size and shape of the retinal projection may vary with changes in our angle of vision” （p87）
