著者簡介

OYINKAN BRAITHWAITE is a graduate of Creative Writing and Law from Kingston University. Following her degree, she worked as an assistant editor at Kachifo, a Nigerian publishing house, and has been freelancing as a writer and editor since. In 2014, she was shortlisted as a top-ten spoken-word artist in the Eko Poetry Slam, and in 2016 she was a finalist for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize. She lives in Lagos, Nigeria.

【Booker2019】A real page turner...作者把故事分劃成很多小章節，提煉一個關鍵字，其中以FATHER為題的章節進行創傷性迴憶。（我覺得這種現時迴憶的寫法可能是本書入選的最重要原因…）我一直存疑的一點是，作者把幾個主要人物都描繪得相當生動，特彆是Ayoola的多重個性，控製欲、自我陶醉、脆弱良善、虛僞自知以及深刻的洞察和不以為然，但作為敘述者的“我”，Korede，其實相當模棱兩可，做瞭很多典型的事情，但反映齣來的是相當模闆化的形象。姐妹倆的關係同樣很典型，隻不過故事中因為血案更為極端。當然作者也扯進去很多傢暴、女權、政治等等大主題，但筆法還是太稚嫩，痕跡太明顯。就拿迴憶過往來講，顯然是為瞭解釋殺人動機，可粗糙淡漠得近乎“無用”。(need enlightments

A pageturning lightweight deadpan murder drama w/ sibling rivalry and bond, Nigerian gender politics, abusive father, love triangle, wise coma patient who was listening the whole time (Muhtar aka 'mother'). Ayoola is manipulative, self-obsessed, instagramming femme fatale, sees men as shallow cheating fools. Micro chapters, works for its length.
