Middle sister is our protagonist. But when first brother-in-law, who of course had sniffed it out, told his wife, her first sister, to tell her mother to come and have a talk with her, middle sister becomes ‘interesting’. The last thing she ever wanted to be. To be interesting is to be noticed and to be noticed is dangerous…

著者簡介

Anna Burns was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is the author of two novels, No Bones and Little Constructions, and of the novella, Mostly Hero. No Bones won the Winifred Holtby Memorial Prize and was short-listed for the Orange Prize for Fiction. She lives in East Sussex, England.

讀起來還是蠻艱難的，句子很繞，在火車上一邊念一邊打瞌睡。屬於rewarding但是不inviting的那一類書。但風格確實獨特到沒有辦法拿任何書去和它比。

作者的語言讀著費勁…很不適閤我，概括瞭幾個不適閤的地方：作者絮絮叨叨，類似的意思反復錶達好幾遍；講一件事的時候不知不覺就岔開瞭；超級長的句子超級長的段落讓我看著就起急…可能就像那些畫畫的，如果就老老實實地畫可能一輩子也齣不瞭名，畫的亂七八糟奇形怪狀的可能就名垂韆古瞭；這篇可能有著類似之處，好好說話錶達觀點拿不瞭奬，非得“特彆”一些…相當不適閤我，以後一定會避免選類似的看

有聲書聽完的不得不說雖然用愛爾蘭口音很有心但是對於我這樣不熟悉愛爾蘭口音的渣渣來說實在太分心瞭。以後還是要重讀一遍。

客观说说，这本书大概不适合每个人，要么喜欢要么讨厌。首先，叙述口吻不是那么令人愉悦，冷漠甚至刻薄，书中没有一个人物有名字，都是代号，milkman, maybe-boyfriend, third brother-in-law, tablet girls, Somebody McSomebody, 每个人物形象都立体鲜明，也不需要什么名字...
