一個英國人類學群體正在做的努力。把認識論的反思推到本體論看似是深化和發展，但是在我看來，這樣的強調反而有可能失去瞭過去二十年來人類學在對認識論反思時所取得的成果。比如，對ontological alterity的關注有可能削弱人類學傢對我們與他們的共同在場和相互影響的強調，在反思物與言的同時，卻割裂瞭我與他的維度。
