一个英国人类学群体正在做的努力。把认识论的反思推到本体论看似是深化和发展，但是在我看来，这样的强调反而有可能失去了过去二十年来人类学在对认识论反思时所取得的成果。比如，对ontological alterity的关注有可能削弱人类学家对我们与他们的共同在场和相互影响的强调，在反思物与言的同时，却割裂了我与他的维度。
