通過兩位女主人公的多重相似點，小說似乎想探索印度當下社會的很多問題：如階級劃分，如男女權利，如艾滋，如未婚先孕等等，但是讀完本書後，個人認為小說並沒有達到很深的哲學意義或者對這些問題有所反思。給兩星。
