我很好奇德文原版是怎樣的：英譯本順暢優美，閱讀過程但就文字而言就是享受。作者講述難民題材很難得的毫無居高臨下，打開瞭我對這個世界的新視角。

作為一本半紀實文學書，作者有真實地去采訪過這些難民。本書基調緩慢細膩。讀這本書的前幾個章節曾想過主角應該會和這些移民者一起成長之類的，但是人的成長畢竟沒有那麼快嘛，主人公Richard並沒有經曆“人格上的升華”，可能這就是現實吧。本書的結尾留給讀者的是深深地無奈。上英語課有分析很多這個那個的，可是這些對難民的生活會有幫助嗎？作者寫瞭這麼多使得人們更瞭解他們的生活並更關心他們的生活瞭吧，可能這是幫助吧。
