非常喜歡。作者對德謨剋利特的推崇很好理解，神吹但丁就有點過於萌瞭。這本書這麼對我口味大概也與我工作有關，感覺工作越久就越執著於一個unified design，一個coherent explanation。Who knows. Maybe it will turn out that things work best without any general model behind them. Hope we can live with that too.

评分書的前半部分由Democritus講至Einstein，可能我先前讀過好幾本物理科普都不超過這個範圍，所以讀起來挺輕鬆易懂。——”懂”僅指字麵含義上讀懂瞭作者所說的話，但不包括背後原理及推演過程乃至應用層麵的含義。書的後半部分著重於loop quantum gravity，就真的有點難瞭，需要多瞭解一點費曼圖和黎曼函數的基本知識。 作者的文風還是很棒的，科普書裏麵不亂給比喻真是難能可貴。雖然作者引用瞭Einstein說的，想象一下軟體動物般的柔性參考體係，覺得這畫麵感尤其尷尬，我想到的都是做成瞭食物的魷魚花。一個“好的”公式應當（簡潔優美到）能在一件T-shirt上寫完，下次可以不穿E=mC^2 這麼常見的啦。
