非常優雅的一本書，用詞、敘事的方式都很溫柔。情節一般，讀到中途幾乎想放棄，但是伯爵的個人魅力還是把我拉瞭迴來。最後讀完還是很滿足的，書中GRE詞匯超多，學瞭很多形容詞。整本看完，印象最深刻的，還是Rostov和Marina討論Nina那裏: “You must trust that life will find her in time. For eventually, it finds us all.”

2020年讀過的第一本書，作為一本fiction，可以和the book thief媲美瞭。

正好看到自己之前的一篇書評說“有些風雅是建立在安穩無憂的生活之上，就像一個美麗的瓷瓶，可供平時賞玩，但經不住磨難的考驗”，Rostov絕對是另一種風雅，在糟糕的境地也能保有內心的寜靜和高潔，和他形成鮮明對比的就是Bishop，這類人一點不陌生，對方的良善反而讓他們感覺是居高臨下的傲慢，於是由自卑生發齣愈加惡劣的行徑。作者的敘述舉重若輕，每一個詞都能感受到Rostov的優雅風度，不刻意營造home arrest的氛圍，但是融於日常生活中的無形的改變更加波瀾壯闊，讓人反而驚嘆它的深度。

這的確是一個精巧而優雅的故事，它如此的精巧與優雅幾乎隨處可見Rostov和作者自己的審美潔癖。而正是這種審美潔癖，不厭其煩的旁徵博引、利摩日的瓷具和1922年的拉圖爾，讓這個故事完全失去瞭曆史的重量。
