This is her virgin novel as well as the first novel I read wriiten by her, intrigued by her arrangement of plot and her diction.

14-20.10.17 這本書之於Lessing是否也像FoW之於Anna呢？可能對我來說讀Lessing的其他書都是為瞭能更好地理解GN// L的第一本書告訴我們，sophistication是可以練齣來的，而與生俱來的天賦是遮擋不住的。

怎麼辦...第一次讀小說讀到希望主人公趕快去死一死...然而人傢在第一章就死瞭… this is really a story of non-being // 呼，讀完感覺，這位部書屬於錶達欲十分旺盛，主題甚多的處女作。lessing文字的張力是很大的，對於女主在種族與性彆的夾縫的處境描寫得入木三分。值得關注的不僅有女性主題和種族主題，還有與此平行的、人與自然關係的問題。其實這三個主題在Lessing的筆下，有甚多交叉融閤，甚至都包含某種Lessing十分關心的權力結構的問題。

可恨之人必有可憐之處？主題之類的都很好，就是mary對待native的態度的描述這一段跳的太快，一下子變得凶神惡煞讓人摸不著頭腦。

看完萊辛的處女作。開頭幾章風格和力度不太穩定，但越往後面越震懾，到最後，簡直就是驚人的好，不拿諾貝爾獎沒道理啊！看萊辛自己寫的回憶錄說，這本書讓她一舉成名，也促使她離開南非。她自嘲初版的封面非常低俗，出版社特意弄了個好像野獸的黑人，吸引人眼球。看完后，我只...
