從30000年這個概念來看，這本書算是很薄瞭！（1000餘頁）除瞭看完會落下腕關節炎癥這一壞處之外，這本書真是一本巨有用的工具書！30000年範圍內，不分地域，重要的藝術作品都有編入，且嚴格按照時間順序排列，十分方便檢索及同時期藝術發展對比等。

这是一本真正的艺术史，是真正的艺术、真正的历史，不是什么“艺术的故事”之类的不伦不类的书。 1，艺术、历史、考古的完美结合； 2，没有个人的、主观的观点和看法； 3，艺术品的选择非常均匀：时间上和地理上。属于发烧级的书；而且，字和图片都比较大，易读。
