评分一本美国政治哲学家的严肃论著，对集权主义以及现代民主政治皆加以批判，否定个人在其中的自由性以及多数决定制度的合法性。书中的无政府主义是一种哲学层面的主张，在“论暴力”部分中，指出“非暴力抵抗”与暴力同质，否定“合法权威”的存在。

评分Wolff端出了一道极端版本的民主怀疑论。最大的优点是类似James Rachels的明晰贯彻全文，直接的点出了问题所在。但是民主理论部分的论证和其它著作比起来太superficial了。
