the plot development is a little bit tedious and slow as long as i'm concerned. Alos writing about chinese culture, Amy Tan's books always kept me in suspense and expect. i read about half of this novel, and kept it at that.

不知道作者是怎么做的research，总之，如果不是听的有声书，一定半路就弃了。
