Stigma is an illuminating excursion into the situation of persons who are unable to conform to standards that society calls normal. Disqualified from full social acceptance, they are stigmatized individuals. Physically deformed people, ex-mental patients, drug addicts, prostitutes, or those ostracized for other reasons must constantly strive to adjust to their precarious social identities. Their image of themselves must daily confront and be affronted by the image which others reflect back to them. Drawing extensively on autobiographies and case studies, sociologist Erving Goffman analyzes the stigmatized person's feelings about himself and his relationship to "normals" He explores the variety of strategies stigmatized individuals employ to deal with the rejection of others, and the complex sorts of information about themselves they project. 评分Goffman關注日常生活和人與人之間的交流與我的興趣點特彆契閤。這一本也是細緻詮釋瞭汙名化在交流中的具體變化過程，很多例子，文風很友好。但中間還是有些地方沒太明白，隻能二刷再看。最後提綱挈領的部分不知是不是篇幅限製，覺得不夠過癮。
评分沒有日常生活中的自我呈現驚艷，但是覺得用在美國社會問題上麵很有趣，批判性種族主義學習的時候應該讀讀這本書
