评分作者写作功底了得，分析视角十分丰富。正如书中所说，美国内关于教育问题的讨论越来越陷入徒劳无功的困境，他山之石，可以攻玉，从后门溜出来清清脑子，看看别国教育的真实情景如何，也是有益的，是成此书。
评分推翻很多國人對美國教育是榜樣的看法，真正好的教育系統存于嚴格的體系，師資的力量和正確的理念中。這本書不是教你怎樣讓孩子變聰明，而是從本質上討論爲什麽同樣花費，有些國家的教育產出更多。我非常喜歡作者討論why而不是how. 很多人在批評中國的教育問題同時卻沒有看到這個教育體系的優點。上海同樣處於中國教育系統，在2009PISA全球成績最高很讓我驕傲。
