我讀的是颱譯版，非常心碎的故事。

（讀的版豆瓣找不到）感謝周薇老師感謝圖圖！雖然被劇透的相當徹底…還記得《純真年代》結尾的震撼。

The love story ends like a ghost story. The ailing Zeena ejected Mattie on the pretext that someone handier than her would be helpful in doing housework. Frome made a clean breast of his affection for her en route to the station. The two merrymakers sledding down the slopes expecting nothing untoward were only to be commiserated instead of blessed.

有點沒意思

不会写书评，这个故事是我读过的经典的故事之一。吕叔湘的翻译真是绝了。感情细腻，语言生动朴实。伊坦跟玛特的爱情确实让人叹息，多好的一对啊，偏偏不能在一起，只能双双选择覆灭。若是伊坦舍弃细娜，和玛特远走高飞。实际上他也顾不了细娜了，他想把田地和伐木场留给细娜，...  

这是一本很容易被忽略的书，薄薄一册，素白的包装，实在显得太不起眼。但就是这样一本不起眼的小书却令我反复读过多次，并且每次读来都仍然不免唏嘘感慨主人公命运的悲惨，同时也为伊迪斯华尔顿的叙述功力所折服。 如果抛开序幕和尾声，那么这部中篇小说的主题内容其实只有四...

磕磕绊绊总算把此书读了一遍。 书前言中有一段叙述：美国心理派女作家伊迪丝华顿伊特有的细腻和力量，在她最富盛名的《以坦弗洛美》写出了当初美国从农业国转向工业国的物质问题和道德问题。从这一方面来说此部小说与路遥的《人生》有些相似。 我刚翻开书就有莫名其妙的感...
