The Good Earth is a novel by Pearl S. Buck, first published in 1931, which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for the Novel in 1932. It is the first book in a trilogy that includes the books Sons (1932) and A House Divided (1935).

评分no wonder this one can won the big award on Nobel and Pulitzer. It's written by a woman that live in China for very long time, a "local" foreigner, this story is so true and sometimes is so sad. It reflects some history of China as Wang Lung's life move on. I was so sad when I read Wang Lung get the Lotus to his house and when O-lan died.
