太写实了，人物情节都不那么引人入胜。坚持看完以后发现她对农村生活的观察非常细致——“原教旨主义，性别歧视，种族歧视，对残障人士的歧视” 到今天还是没有太大改变。
评分对清末民国的印象，多为名士大家，底层的人民生活读的只有白鹿原等几部。不愧是赛珍珠获奖的代表作。从一个常年居住中国的美国人的视角，元素熟悉又陌生，有些家庭关系处理在今天也是很常见。现而今的年轻人很喜欢提及梦想，王龙和阿兰没有梦想，只有坚韧朴实的生命，生孩子也可以自己完成，用芦苇隔断脐带，生产后照样给公公做饭。文笔也非常优美，是可以仔细揣摩的小说。姜文说拍电影的小说，只能读一遍认真读，在读就是亵渎了。我猜这部可以归入此类。
评分有脉络有关怀，读来开阔。到最后发现Wang Lung没有怎么受到革命影响，原来是还在民国
评分just heart-striking and inspirational! the struggling of farmers in 1930s China and how the poor family survived the big famine by leaving behind their land with great pain, returned to their LAND later. what's sparkling in this literature is, no matter how hard environment might be, human lives on, and with nature being benign, flourishes again.
评分赛珍珠写中国农民的生活写成这样算不错了。不过还是感觉流于表面描写，深度有限。
