If in the year 1411 you had been able to circumnavigate the globe, you would have been most impressed by the dazzling civilizations of the Orient. The Forbidden City was under construction in Ming Beijing; in the Near East, the Ottomans were closing in on Constantinople. 評分尼爾弗格森不愧是西方的餘鞦雨易中天,書寫的水銀瀉地旁證博弈,提綱掣領又大氣輝煌。隻是讀完之後又有點找不到重點,很多分析稍顯牽強粗淺。值得一讀,但是似乎並不配得上多少學術價值。
