著者简介

爱玛•多诺霍（Emma Donoghue）,1969年10月出生于都柏林，父亲是文学评论家。少年时光大多在都柏林的一家天主教女子修道院学校度过，唯有十岁时在纽约的一年生活异常精彩。1990年获得都柏林大学学院英语以及法语一等荣誉学位（最高等级），但却拙于开口说法语。随后移居英格兰，在剑桥获得博士学位（论18世纪虚构作品中的男女友谊）。23岁时写作为生，自从做了一个月的旅店服务员而被解雇后，便以不曾拥有一份靠谱工作而深觉幸运。此后经年往来于英国、爱尔兰以及加拿大，1998年定居于加拿大安大略省的伦敦市，如今与伴侣Chris Roulston以及幼子Finn (7岁)、幼女Una (3岁)居住在一起。

没想到豆瓣也有这本书。几年前读后尤为震撼。好像去年故事被拍成电影。

一开始被厚厚的一本书吓到，不知道要何时才能读完，谁知读进去就越陷越深，三天不到就看完了。为了Jack和Ma 而流泪。精彩的文字。Emma Donoghue的Room 讲了一个类似Fritzl case的可怕故事，但有个充满希望的乐观结尾。前半部充盈着Jack妈妈的伟大母爱，后半部Jack和Ma 在新环境里重新开始。可见作者想讲的不仅是一个关于囚禁和逃亡的故事，这里还有关于爱，关于寻找自我。而这个故事完全出自一个叫Jack 的五岁男孩的口。
