ishiguro is a master that knows how to conceal as he makes it reveal. A combination of western universality and eastern sentiments. The effect is phenomenal. There's no big words, he just draws you in, so natually, so plainly. " crooner" and "come rain and come shine" almost brought me to tears, with the reason why i couldn't put my fingers on.

語言像貝斯一樣托起每一個故事，像靜謐的威尼斯運河流水，薩剋斯在窗邊，人在貢多拉上。各種樂隊reference看得不亦樂乎，輕巧美麗的5個音樂小短片。

沒想到石黑一雄的短篇這麼有意思。最喜歡第四個故事，主人公和他朋友的電話對話太可愛瞭，一個英國人寫起美國味兒的對話，也是毫不違和啊。
